Hello there, human (or bot) 👋
I’m Jacques Philipp - a platform engineer, Linux whisperer, open source crusader, and part-time chaos consultant. I spend my days knee-deep in Kubernetes clusters and my nights wondering why YAML exists. Welcome to my lair - I mean, my personal site.
👨💻 What I Actually Do
- Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer @ LSD Open
- Builder of reliable (but occasionally stubborn) platforms using OpenShift, Linux, Ansible, and Bash
- Resident problem-solver, documentation nerd, and “why-is-this-alert-firing” detective
- Strong believer that everything can be automated — except good coffee
I work in the wild world of containers, clouds, and controlled anarchy. I break things for a living. Then I fix them. Sometimes in that order.
🧠 Credentials, Street-Cred, & Chaos Energy
- Red Hat Certified (working my way to RHCA with my team of rebels 🏴☠️)
- Deep love for Fedora, KVM, Cockpit, and duct-taping Linux together in home labs
- Currently obsessed with: Tailscale, WireGuard, OpenWRT, and remote Kubernetes cluster access with minimal swearing
You’ll find me talking about everything from OpenShift health reporting, alerting stacks, and Kubernetes VPN overlays, to weird Bash scripts that shouldn’t work (but do).
🧘 Work-Life-Insanity Balance
When I’m not convincing Prometheus to calm down or battling YAML demons, I’m likely:
- 🌿 Working on a laptop in a forest
- 🧠 Writing witty AI prompts or rants about tech
- 🐧 Naming my servers ridiculous things like
overcompensator.core.whore
- 👨❤️👨 Spending time with my husband Elmar (aka the real sysadmin at home)
I’m equal parts tech nerd, nature enthusiast, foodie and meme connoisseur.
🔗 The Tux.Zone Philosophy
Tux.Zone is my refuge, my digital nest, my experiment in professional absurdity.
Here you’ll find:
- 📚 Knowledge dumps
- 🛠️ Tools I build and break
- 😆 Posts laced with sarcasm and shell scripts
- 📷 Possibly a few scenic shots of a laptop in places laptops shouldn’t be
This site is powered by Hugo, caffeine, and a touch of existential dread.
You’re welcome.
